What is the difference between Rev C, Rev D, Rev E, Rev F of the Model 3501 Type C SuperMUTT?

The Model 3501 Rev C, D, E and F are technically the same, and have the same capabilities.

  • In Rev D, the only user-visible change is that we adjusted the layout a little bit to further optimize the signal quality of high-speed USB.  This only makes a difference when using very long cables or with devices that have marginal signal quality.
  • Rev E adds a white-wire correction to the wiring of one of the voltage regulators. This has no effect on testing at all.
  • Rev F is the same as Rev E, except that the white-wire is incorporate in the PCB.  As of November 2018, Rev F has not yet shipped.
There is no need to update Rev C units to a later revision. Microsoft test software fully supports all three versions.
